The Castle of Naoussa is situated in Paros island in the Naoussa region.
The castle of Naoussa was constructed at the entrance of the picturesque port by the Venetians, who wanted to protect the ships and the town from pirates. Unfortunately it was not enough to stop the notorious pirate Barbarossa, who in 1537 after several days of battle, occupied the castle and plundered Paros.
