Kokino spiti (Red House) is in Chalkida, in the region of Euboea (Evia).
It is a trademark of Chalkida and one of the most photographed places in the city. Kokino spiti was built in 1884, where an ottoman tekke once was, and it still is a beautiful and impressive building. Its bright red color made it stand out and be a point of reference for residents and visitors of Chalkida.
In 1916 it hosted the king of Serbia for a long time, while during the German Occupation it was the center of the German administration. Today the building is granted to the Municipality of Chalkida and houses the "House of Sciences and Knowledge" of Chalkida.
