The Bazeos Tower was built around 1600 and until the island was liberated from the Turks, it operated as a monastery. Later it passed into the hands of the Greek state, from where the Bazeos family bought it and to this day it still remains in their possession.
It is worth visiting the Bazeos Tower for two reasons. The first is to admire its interesting architecture, the frescoes and the chapel. The second is to enjoy great music, theater, visual arts and other cultural events that are hosted in the summer under the Naxos Festival.
