Agistri in a nutshell

Agistri in a nutshell

Agistri is right in the heart of the Saronic Gulf.

It is a small but beautiful island and an all-time favorite destination for excursions and holidays. Agistri island can be reached by boat, being almost an hour away from the port of Piraeus and just 5 minutes from Aegina. This short distance and the lush landscape combined with enchanting beaches, have made Agistri a top tourist destination (inversely proportional to its size).

Agistri has two ports, Skala in which ships from Piraeus moor and Megalochori or else Mylos in which Flying Dolphins arrive.

The island does not exceed an area of 12 square kilometers, but you have to experience it in its entirety. Visit Megalochori and the windmill to which it owes its second name, Mylos(=Mill). Continue towards Scala, and you'll surely notice a white church with blue dome dedicated to Agioi Anargyroi. Drive around the island and discover marvelous beaches, a lake near Limenaria and the tiny islands of Aponisos and Dorousa with the church of Prophet Elias.

The tourist infrastructure in Agistri is excellent, with hotels and spotless rooms ready to satisfy even the most demanding visitor. Restaurants, cafes and bars where you can enjoy delicious food, coffee or a drink.

Every year Agistri attracts more and more visitors, many of whom come for the umpteenth time. Perhaps the time has come for you to visit too...!
