Euboea (Evia) is the second largest island in Greece (after Crete), having an expansion of more than 3650 square kilometers. Its shape is rectangular with the north end facing the coast of Fthiotida and Magnesia and the southern tip creating a strait with Andros, known for its windy weather as Kavo Doro Cavo d' Oro.
Evia is washed by the Aegean Sea on the east side and the Gulf of Evia on the western. The island has a vast coastline with dozens of beautiful beaches that attract many swimmers.
At the closest point between Central Greece and Evia lies Chalkida, the capital of Euboea, through the Bridge of which the island is connected with mainland Greece.
Evia has more than 200 000 permanent residents, divided into cities and villages, such as Istiaia, Kymi, Karystos, Eretria, Edipsos and Limni.
Evia is well developed, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Excellent hotels and guesthouses, remarkable restaurants and taverns, cafes and bars, ensure that here you'll spent the most comfortable and tasteful holidays. These, combined with beautiful beaches, wonderful scenery and impressive attractions, make Evia an ideal holiday destination.
