Near the beach of Agioi Anargyroi is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of Spetses, the cave Bekiris. The cave has a small sandy beach internally and stalagmites that compose a dreamlike setting. The cave has an entrance from both land and sea, and is very well hidden, thus being the ideal hiding place and fugitive shelter. There are various versions of how the cave got its name. One has it that it was a hiding place from the Turks, for someone called Bekiri, while another has it that Bekiris was the one who betrayed the ones hidden in the cave to the Turks. Either way, it is sure that the cave is of unique beauty and you would be a fool not to visit it. It is no coincidence that a very romantic scene from the famous Greek film "Jenny Jenny" was filmed in Cave Bekiris...
