A partof Vlychada beach is organized with sun beds and umbrellas, while in the adjacent harbor you can enjoy your meal in one of the taverns in the area.

Very close to the archaeological site of Akrotiri is the small Akrotiri beach. It is covered with dark pebbles and crystal clear waters. In the area there are several restaurants.
From Akrotiri beach you can go to Kokini(Red) Beach on foot (about a quarter walking) or by boat.
Avis beach is located between the beaches Monolithos and Kamari. It got its name from the namesake tomato factory that was once in the area. It offers sun beds and umbrellas and is a good choice for windsurfing.
Close to Oia is the small beach of Amoudi. Although it is basically a harbor and not a beach, it has excellent waters and many choose it for swimming. However, it is mostly known for its wonderful view (especially at sunset) and the equally wonderful restaurants.

Nea Kameni (or "volcano" for the locals) is considered to be the youngest island in the Mediterranean. Having been characterized a natural geological park, it is included in the NATURA program.
Visitors can walk almost every part of it, see the volcano's crater and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience.
Next to the Nea Kameni is the (smaller) Old Kameni. Here you have the opportunity to bathe in the hot springs, which have a temperature of 5 degrees above that of the sea and are rich in sulfur, due to the volcano. You can also try the healing mud! How thrilling is that?
